Leaving a legacy to Refugee Resource

We understand that when it comes to making your will, family and friends come first. After providing for your loved ones, please consider leaving a gift in your Will to Refugee Resource, so that we can continue to help people on their journeys healing from trauma.
Why leave a gift to charity in your will?
Whether big or small, a gift in your Will is a remarkable way to show your support for a small local charity. It will enable Refugee Resource to deliver its vital services to refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable individuals, helping them to heal from their experiences of trauma and rebuild their lives.
A gift in your Will is free of inheritance tax. You can also cut the Inheritance Tax rate on the rest of your estate from 40% to 36%, if you leave at least 10% of your ‘net estate’ to a charity. Find out more about the tax benefits in this article.
We recommend that you speak to your solicitor when making or amending your Will. However, it is possible to amend your current will to include a gift to Refugee Resource using a Codicil form.

Why leave a gift to Refugee Resource?
Many people may not realise that the top 5% of national charities receive 85% of all charitable income; yet small and local charities make up 50% of the UK’s voluntary sector.
Donating to a small, local charity in your community not only means helping a cause closer to home, but even a small gift can make a huge difference to our services, which respond to the needs of clients as they arise and are supported by a wonderful network of volunteers - so your donation can go further.
Refugees have often seen the very worst of humanity, and we have an opportunity to show them some of the best. We offer a variety of therapeutic services that work holistically together, to help people recover their mental health and feel part of their local community. Find out more about each of our services here.
Where do I start?
Your will lets you decide what happens to your money, property and possessions after your death. You need to get your will formally witnessed and signed to make it legally valid. The GOV.UK website can offer further advice on Making a Will.
