Men’s Services
The men’s services provide a range of activities and advice and advocacy support for refugee, asylum seeking and migrant men. Our aim is to reach out and engage men who are otherwise largely isolated in Oxford, to build relationships of trust and support. Currently an art therapy group is being run in partnership with Modern Oxford Art and Asylum Welcome.
Football Group
Refugee Resource provides a weekly football group in Blackbird Leys in partnership with Emmanuel Church. This is well-attended with 20 to 30 young men each week from a wide range of backgrounds providing widening social networks. Teams formed from this group also participate in various tournaments throughout the year, engaging with the wider community in Oxford. In the last two years the football team has participated in the annual Social Inclusion Cup at Oxford City FC grounds, winning the silver cup in 2015 and coming in fourth place this year.
