“…improving English, and you get more confident. Better than in English classes.” “Someone is listening to me”

‘I can be myself, I can talk about my problems, it is confidential and I can trust’

‘It is a liberating experience to be with someone who wants to be there, not someone whose job it is, someone who listens and looks to solve problems’

Volunteering

Volunteering opportunities update

There are volunteering opportunities available with various services at Refugee Resource, including the Mentoring Service, the Women's Service, Social Inclusion and in marketing and fundraising. Opportunities listed here vary dependent on current needs, and we do regularly update this information so please check again in future if there is nothing suitable at present.

Trustees

We are currently looking for new trustees to join our Board of Trustees with a strong human resources background, a refugee background or mental health practitioner specialism. Please click here for further information.

Mentoring

We are looking for:

  • People who are available in the daytime (Monday to Friday – any time between 10am and 4.30pm) for 1 ½ to 2 hours per week or fortnight. Mentoring relationships usually last for up to 12 months - so we are looking for people who can commit for this length of time, in order to provide consistent and regular support for the person they are matched with.  We offer induction and ongoing training for this volunteer role.

If you are interested, for more information, please contact Ruth by email: ruthh@refugeeresource.org or phone: 01865 403292
