Our Training and Support Offer
Training and Support for those working with the unique challenges of people who have experienced trauma, displacement, and isolation by providing three core services:
Group training to help teams respond effectively to the needs of refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants coping with the challenges of their new lives in the UK.
Individual training strengthen professional practice for individuals through increased understanding of their clients’ needs and skills to work with them.
Supervision for front-line staff to help them cope with vicarious trauma and their personal wellbeing.
Sharing what we have learnt during 25 years of providing counselling, mentoring and social inclusion activities to refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants and providing training and support to those working with them.
Individual Training - Rehumanising People in Extreme Situations
This current course has been adapted from the Master's Level training that was designed by Refugee Resource and accredited by and delivered in partnership with Oxford Brookes University. It is designed for individuals seeking more in depth knowledge of working with refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants affected by severe and persistent trauma.
Outcomes:
· Strengthened professional practices for frontline staff through increased understanding of their clients’ needs and skills to work with them.
· Increased ability of staff to look after their own well-being.
· Increased understanding of managers about the challenges facing their frontline staff and how to address them.
· Connections with others addressing similar challenges.

22nd May - online only 10.00-12.00
29th May - online only 10.00-12.00

19th June - in person (Old Music Hall, Cowley Road, Oxford) and online 10.00-15.00
The cost per student will be £390.
A certificate of participation will be available for attendance.

Therapeutic Support and Supervision
Helping staff cope with the trauma of their clients so that burnout and vicarious trauma do not affect individual staff, their teams or the organisation as a whole.
Outcomes:
Improved quality of services provided to clients.
Improved welfare of staff, their teams, and the entire organisation.
Reduced organisational costs of poor staff well-being, loss of experienced staff, and increased staff turnover.
Monthly session provided in person or online.
Cost will be £85 per hour of supervision provided.

Bespoke Team Training
Experienced staff using their insights to adapt the trainings to the specific needs of teams of front-line workers and their managers.Working in a wide range of sectors. Helping teams to respond effectively to the needs of refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants coping with the challenges of new lives in the UK, while suffering the impact of the traumas they experienced getting here.
Outcomes:
Improved services and well-being for migrant clients.
Improved staff well-being, reduced staff burnout and turnover.
The length of the training and its content will be agreed as part of adapting to the needs of each client.
Cost for up to 15 trainees :
£600 for half day and £900 for full day.
