Refugee Resource is an Oxfordshire-based charity dedicated to relieving distress, improving wellbeing, creating welcoming communities for refugees, people seeking asylum, and vulnerable migrants.
We are seeking an inspiring and experienced Chair of Trustees to lead our Board and help shape the next phase of the charity's development and impact in line with its Three-Year Plan (2026 – 2029).
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior leader who is passionate about social justice and understands the challenges faced by the communities we serve.
We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who bring experience of leading organisations, managing complex stakeholder relationships, working directly with refugees, asylum seekers, vulnerable migrants, or similarly marginalised communities.
We are looking for someone who:
ü Has a strong understanding of; commitment to, the needs and experiences of refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants.
ü Has significant senior leadership experience and a proven ability to provide strategic direction, inspire others; build effective relationships.
ü Has experience of governance, ideally as a charity trustee; can provide confident leadership to the Board while ensuring strong governance and accountability.
ü Is an excellent communicator with the credibility and influence to represent the charity externally and strengthen relationships with partners, funders, stakeholders.
ü Has the confidence to navigate challenging decisions, manage differing viewpoints and support constructive debate.
ü Can work collaboratively with the CEO, trustees, staff, volunteers and service users to achieve the charity's mission and long-term objectives.
ü Has the networks, profile; commitment to help raise awareness of our work and support fundraising efforts.
ü Can commit 2–4 days per month to the role.
